Gerard Cosmetics Review

After seeing Gerard Cosmetics all over Instagram, i decided to give it a try. I went online and ordered the "Party Pout" promotional package which included a lipstick, liquid lipstick, and lip gloss. I finally received my order a couple days ago, and couldn't wait to try out my new products! Here are my thoughts...

Packaging: The packaging of the products is breathtaking! They incorporated a lot of gold which makes their products look extremely chic. It is also secured in a black and gold box which is sleek and simplistic.

Quality: The quality of the products is absolutely amazing. The name of the lipstick i ordered was 1995. It has a matte finish, and glides on really well. Unlike some matte lipsticks from other brands, this one wasn't overly dry and was the perfect nude shade for my skin tone (tan). I found the liquid lipstick to be a little dry but the colour (Serenity) was breathtaking! If you have dry lips, i would suggest moisturizing before applying this product. The lip gloss has got to be my absolute favourite! I ordered the colour "Coco" which can be worn over lipstick or on it's own due to the high pigmentation. My favourite part of this lip gloss is definitely the "added features" to the packaging. It comes with a mirror on the back, and a light on the inside of the applicator. It's perfect for quick touch-ups throughout the day; and the best part is, you don't have to look for that perfect lighting because you have one right in front of you!

The baby pink colour theme is perfect for a spring wedding. It's girly, elegant, and fit for a fairytale wedding. Adding silver to the color scheme definitely accentuates the theme. After all, diamonds are a girl's best friend! The photo above shows some of the important elements of a wedding and how the colours create harmony and fit that fairytale theme.

Louis Vuitton Monogram vs Damier Ebene

Buying your first Louis Vuitton purse is like buying your first car. You want something that will last but also has to be that perfect colour, style, etc. When i was ready to make my first ever Louis Vuitton purchase i was faced with many questions and debates. What style would i get? Which canvas should i go for? After several days of debating, i finally decided on the Speedy 30. It's the perfect size handbag to take anywhere, and also a classic. I was even more excited about this style when i read that it was originally designed for Audrey Hepburn! The canvas on the other hand took me weeks to decided on. I narrowed my choice down to the Monogram and Damier Ebene. They're both beautiful designs; however they both had pros and cons. Here's what my list looked like before i decided on which design to get:

Monogram
  • Pros
    - Most popular Louis Vuitton print
    - Leather patina's into beautiful golden brown colour
    - Classic and Timeless
    - Can be worn for all seasons
  • Cons
    - High Maintenance
    - Non-water resistant
    - Can be stained easily
    - Leather can patina unevenly if stained
    - Several knock-offs on the market

Damier Ebene
  • Pros
    - Low Maintenance
    - Water Resistant
    - Has Red Lining
    - Louis Vuitton's very first canvas design
    - Appropriate for the workplace
  • Cons
    - Basic Print
    - Looks best with fall/ winter outfits

After weeks of looking at this list and debating, i finally decided on the Speedy 30 in the Monogram canvas. I found that the Damier Ebene was more appropriate for the Canadian weather; however, the monogram is a classic print and goes well everything. In the end, i believe that it comes down to personal preference. They're both beautiful prints and you can't go wrong with either one. Choose the one that best suits your lifestyle and personal style.
